Visitors travelling to Turkey must obtain a visa unless you are from one the 78 visa-exempt countries and territories.
You can get your visa from Turkish missions abroad or , if you are eligible, from Turkey’s e-visa website for an e-visa upon arrival.
In 2013, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey launched The Electronic Visa (e-Visa) Application System, (www.evisa.gov.tr). Using this system visitors travelling to Turkey can easily obtain their e-Visas online in almost three minutes, 7/24at everywhere with internet connection. All they need to do is fill in the necessary information concerning your identity, passport and travedl dates and then pay visa fee online.
However please note that e-visa is only valid if your are travelling to Turkey for business or leisure, otherwise you need to get visa prior your travel through Turkish Embassies or Consulates.
If you are arriving arriving to Turkey without a visa you may obtain your e-Visas via interactive kiosks placed in Turkish airports. Please note that fees for e-Visas obtained online are lower than the fees for visas obtained upon arrival at the airport. Furthermore, Turkish goverment is planning to make necessary arrangements to help visitors to Turkey can obtain e-Visas from authorized airline companies.
If you are a citizen of Belgium, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Northern Cyprus, Portugal, Spain, or Switzerland, you will be allowed to enter Turkey with your national ID’s in accordance with “European Agreement on Regulations governing the Movement of Persons between Member States of the Council of Europe”.
